Feeling Down? Try This

Welcome, my lovely readers!  Have you ever found yourself feeling down in the slumps for no apparent reason?  Maybe you're having a rough day or week, and nothing seems to cheer you up. We've all been there, and it's completely normal to feel this way from time to time. But we can't stay there, and the faster we're able to work through the slump, the more resilient we become. Did you know that more than 16 million adults in the US alone experience at least one depressive episode during their life?  That's a lot, which is why in this post, I'm going to share some tips from my own experience on how to get work through a case of the blues.  Acknowledge Your Feelings Feelings.  They're great, but can be complicated, and sometimes hard to talk about. The Standard of Success

August 9, 2022 This idea of success has been playing a major role in my life and my decisions since and after college. And “success” is a very abstract thing that is hard for people to articulate. But at the same time, it’s something we’re all chasing, isn’t it? Why?  You heard me right. I’m asking you to stop, pause, and ask the question “why are you chasing after success?” Why are you chasing success? For some, that will be an epiphany and a mind blowing thought in and of itself. Start a business, etc. You fill in the blank. These are all phrases that we’ve either said or thought at some point in our lives. The things we want to do or experience seem to have a tendency to get pushed to the backburner of our lives with the reasoning that, “I’ll get to it eventually, someday it’ll happen, the timing just isn’t right.” Sound familiar? Well, hold that thought as we take a little detour into what has been going on in my life recently… For the past six months or more, I had been thinking about starting a blog, I just never got around to doing it. For a variety of reasons. I felt like I should be pouring all my attention and energy into finding a solid career job. I felt severely underqualified to be starting a blog because I am not the most tech savvy person. I felt that I should wait ...
